When
Celeste and I decided that we wanted to contribute to a larger purpose
in our lives, the health of the Chesapeake Bay naturally filled that space.
The Chesapeake is a part of our lives everyday, just as it is for any person
that lives in its water shed. Of course, it is certain to be around longer
than either one of us. The real question is, will our future generations
be able to find sustenance, refreshment, peace, and enjoyment in its waters?
We decided to allocate a portion of our profits towards the restoration of the Chesapeake Bay and its watershed. Initially the percentage donated will be 8%. As the business develops we'll be able to gain a clearer understanding of where we can go from there. The goal of giving back to help clean up the Chesapeake is an integral part of our company's mission.
We realize that as a fledling company we may not post a tremendous profit for a few years. Rather than let time get away from us, we have partnered with another like minded company, Be the Bay. The owners, Dave and Paula Jasinski, have also committed a portion of their profits towards Bay restoration. In the spirit of the movement and the strength found in partnership, we've worked together to found a non-profit trust called E3 Collaborative. This trust will be focused on grass roots efforts to clean up the Bay, and it will be supported by area businesses that want to make a difference. If you're interested in learning more and potentially partnering, please reach out to us.
